• The transparency principle requires Data Controllers to communicate to data subjects details related to personal data processing operations in a simple and clear language.
• This can be done through privacy notices (online and offline), video notifications, infographs, just-in-time notifications etc.
• We are developing privacy notices where we explain to affected data subjects who is the data controller (or joint data controllers), what personal data categories are processed and why (legal ground and scope), to whom personal data is shared with and why, for how long personal data is being processed and stored and why, and what are the data subject rights that can be applied in relation to the personal data processing operations.
• Not all the data subject rights are applicable – for eg, the right to object to processing of personal data can be exercised only when the legal ground for processing personal data is public interest or legitimate interest.
